Oh my Lord - didn't it rain!

So goes the refrain from a Tom Jones Gospel Song and my Lord, didn't it rain! With the hosepipe ban coming into force, the heavens suddenly opened up and it rained and rained and rained!  Keen gardeners & allotment buffs who rushed to get all manner of water collection devices installed ended up with so much captured rainwater, we could have bottled it and made a fortune selling it to the French! (Brits Revenge for Evian & Vittel).

The abbreviated sunshine periods and more rain meant the growing season was very short and crop yields very much reduced.

Still model boat builders did well practising their Ark construction techniques but the real winners were the Slugs - the sheer numbers and the size of the brutes was staggering.
