Boo to Santander (2010)

Lots of folks who were loyal Abbey National savers have closed their accounts recently and taken their savings & banking business elsewhere. This can be confirmed by HSBC Guildford if need be - to name but one bank.

Here's an example of why.

One of our members, a loyal Abbey Nat customer for nearly 30 years , was refused a new cheque book , Why? Because over all those years she had 36 unused cheques on her account and this constituted a "security risk" - Santander refused to her issue her with a cheque book.

Santander didn't care that these were cancelled cheques - they just refused point blank.

Needless to say this lady has now closed all her 3 accounts and taken her custom elsewhere. And will be followed shortly by her family members - all Abbey Nat customers,

What arrogance and high-handedness from the Spaniards!
