Wood St Show - July 2013
Last years' show was cancelled due to persistent rain & soggy ground conditions which disappointed a great many people.
Luckily the weather held this year and apart from some clouding over, it was an excellent weather afternoon on Saturday 20th.
A lot of visitors to the Show throughout the afternoon and a reasonable guess would be that the event turned a profit for the organisers - which means that weather permitting, it will run again next year.
WBDRA & WASHA had a shared stand which was essentially promoting the Allotment Cause generally and the Aldershot Road Allotment Site Housing issue in particular.
We had a very good throughput of visitors which included Anne Milton MP, Sue Sturgeon the current stand-in CEO @ GBC, several councillors and local political folk - all of whom were very interested in what we had to say.
We managed to raise some funds for WASHA via Jam Sales and a hugely successful raffle.
And to cap it all, WASHA stalwarts Beverly Mussell & Noreen Moynihan won First Prizes (Jam & Fruit respectively) in the Horticultural Society Exhibition - well done ladies!
Looking forward to next year now!
