Dec 2012 update
Following several changes in recent times on the GBC Planning Portal, we'll be updating this very soon.
But rather than following the Online Portal process, exactly the same result can be achieved by e-mailiing: email@example.com
OBJECTING TO PLANNING APPLICATIONS - January 2011
MAKING OBJECTIONS & COMMENTS
Since GBC introduced a new website layout in 2010, the process of commenting on/objecting to applications has also changed and not for the better.
One of the less helpful changes is that you NO LONGER get an acknowledgement to anything you post online - this used to be automated so at least you had a record/reference number for your e-mail, but not any longer.
So is it really worth ploughing through the whole process just to send an e-mail. It is BUT only if you wish to look at the entire Application Paperwork.
THE EASY WAY
The simplest thing to do is to send your comments/objections to: firstname.lastname@example.org
THE HARD WAY - also the route to view all documents
Step by Step, the process is:
Go to GBC website - www.guildford.gov.uk
@ the Services menu, click on "Environment & Planning"
@ the Environment & Planning page click on "Planning"
@ Planning Page, click on "Application Search & View - Planning"
@ this page, look to the right & you'll see the "Offsite Links" box, then underneath this, click on "Planning Application Search"
You are now at the "Planning Applications & Appeals Search" page. Here you can choose to view the application details by choosing to search by the Planning Application reference number or by its address.
@ the Consultation page you can post your comments/objections online or revert back to "The Easy Way" above.
