General Election Dec 2019

At the December 2019 Election, Anne Milton stood as an Independent candidate.

Following her following her principled opposition to one of the Government's key Brexit Votes, she lost the Conservative whip and very regrettably was deselected by the local Conservative party.

Sadly Anne was in a difficult position on the night of the Brexit vote  - should she represent the majority of Guildford voters (Remain) or follow the Party Whips & vote Leave.

Anne was an outstanding constituency MP, a good friend & supporter of WBDRA and she will be sorely missed - and a very hard act to follow.

We hope that Angela Richardson will grow in to the MP role and we hope to hear from her sometime soon.
